The Type 97 Medium Tank [Chi-ha] played a central role in the Japanese tank corps. Initially,the main purpose of this vehicle was to support infantry, but from 1945, production of the [New Turret Chi-Ha], which is equipped with a 47mm anti-tank gun with improved anti-tank capability replaces the early model.
