Hasegawa 1/350 U.S. Navy Escort Carrier USS Gambier Bay (CVE-73)

The USS Gambier Bay (CVE-73) is a Casablanca-class escort carrier well known for the heroic defensive actions of "Taffy 3" against the IJN's Center Force which included amongst others, the battleship Yamato and the heavy cruiser Chikuma during the Battle of Samar, and was the only US carrier sunk by naval gunfire during WW2 after suffering at least 15 hits in a span of 30 minutes.
